AMECEA: Bakanja Seminary Invites AMECEA Bishops and Stakeholders Upcoming Silver Jubilee

As members of Blessed Bakanja AMECEA College (BBAC) are looking forward to the upcoming event scheduled for the month of October to mark 25 years since the establishment of the seminary, all bishops of the Association of Member Episcopal Conferences in Eastern Africa (AMECEA) region, partners, institutions, friends, alumni and people of good will have been invited to this remarkable occasion.
As the preparations are underway to thank God for the years of existence of Blessed Bakanja College, for the achievements and the services offered to the society, the seminary’s leadership in collaboration with the organizing committee created to spearhead the October event, anticipate to renovate the seminary buildings that have grown old with the passing of years.
The committee targets about 79,000$US (11 million Kenya Shillings) and requests for support from all stakeholders towards this noble initiative to make Bakanja seminary a good and conducive place for the formation of future priests.
The Saturday, October 21, event will be presided over by the AMECEA Chairman Bishop Charles Sampa Kasonde of Solwezi Diocese, Zambia, who doubles as the Chancellor of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA).
The Silver Jubilee year which was launched in December last year, runs under the theme: ‘Looking at the past 25 years with gratitude, living the present with passion, moving to the future with hope’.
Currently, BBAC offers a three-year program that seeks to provide men discerning priestly vocation with the foundation needed to enter priesthood by fostering integrative growth in the areas of human and spiritual formation.
