VATICAN: Pope Francis Admitted with Respiratory Infection, Vatican Reports Improvement

Pope Francis on Wednesday, March 29, was admitted at Gemelli University Hospital in Rome after being diagnosed with a respiratory infection.
According to Vatican spokesperson Mr. Matteo Bruni in a statement on Wednesday,” Pope Francis had lamented some respiratory difficulties and was brought to the Gemelli Hospital for a medical check.”
“The result of these [tests] highlighted a respiratory infection (excluding Covid-19 infections) that will require several days of appropriate hospital treatment,” Mr. Bruni said in his message.
On Thursday, March 30, Vatican reported that a statement from the Holy Press office highlighted that Pope Francis‘s health is improving as he remains in hospital for treatment for a pulmonary infection.
The Vatican said the Holy Father will remain in the hospital for a few days of treatment meanwhile his audiences were cancelled through Friday.
