Sending children to seminaries and other Religious formation centres manifests the future of the Church, said the cleric in Uganda

Parents in the Catholic Church at all levels have been encouraged to inspire their children to the service of the Church, Rev. Fr. Godfrey Baluku Sunday, the Kasese Diocesan Assistant Pastoral coordinator has said.

In his speech shortly after presiding over Holy Mass animated by Seminarians from St. Paul National Major Seminary-Kinyamaseka at Nsenyi Parish on fifth Sunday of Lent Season, 26th March 2023, Rev. Fr. Godfrey said by sending more children to the seminary and other Religious formation centres manifests the future of the Church that however calls for tested parenthood and Church rooted families he described as nursery beds for the work of the Lord.

Fr. Sunday who is also the Nsenyi Parish encouraged the seminarians to live exemplary life that will motive the young generation to follow their footsteps, adding that their study aim should be about evangelizing the whole person not personal interest.

Rev. Fr. Patrick Sunday Baluku who represented the St. Paul Major Seminary Rector, the Very Rev. Fr. Vincent Muhindo said the Seminary is a seed bed for priests whose journey to Priesthood requires hard work, responsible parenthood and prayer to breed the required quality of God’s servants.

Fr. Patrick Sunday added the visit to Diocese of Kasese was not casual but to motivate and encourage the young generation about the life in the Seminary, urging the community to take the role on parenting for the future of the church and the country atlarge.

The Parish Laity council chairperson, Mrs. Anna Muhindo encouraged seminarians to follow their calling with love, honest, focus and trust in God by desisting from diversionary earthly waves and selfish emotions.

Thatha Asasio Kamalha Buhaka, the second oldest serving Priest in the diocese of Kasese has asked Christians to work and live in the Lord than being diverted by earthly forces that do not have powers over nature.

In his Homily, Thatha Kamalha wonders how a baptized and confirmed Christian can be diverted by a witch doctor who has no link with God, the power life that Christians believe in.

He asked Christians to emulate Martha and Mary whose belief in Christ called for the mercies of the Lord that saw the resurrection from the dead of their brother Lazarus.

Thatha Kamalha said it was up to a Christian to decide to grow in faith or deep his soul in ending life, asking believers in Christ to follow the right blessed way.

St. Paul-Kinyamaseka is among the four national Major Seminary under the Uganda Episcopal Conference.

Fr. Sunday was accompanied by two Priests, Rev. Fr. Leonard Setaba and Rev. Fr. Nickolas Musinguzi from the same Seminary.
