ZAMBIA: Society is Killing Christian Values of Good Neighbourliness: Bishop Chinyemba on Care for the Sick

Bishop Evans Chinyemba OMI, has charged that society is killing the Christian values of being a good neighbour to those who are suffering.
Rt. Rev. Chinyemba who is the Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) Bishop Director of Health, has further indicated that people no longer care for the environment and family life is not respected.
“People no longer care for the environment, family life is no longer respected and the suffering have no one who can listen to them without condemning them,” he said.
This is contained in his message for the World Day of the Sick, which is observed annually on the 11th of February, the feast our Lady of Lourdes.
Bishop Chinyemba has since added that the commemoration of the World Day of the Sick calls every person to continue reflecting on the Christian call to be a good neighbour.
“We are called to not to leave anyone behind, chosen to be compassionate as a synodal exercise of healing, baptized to exercise the Christian values of love and tenderness to the sick,” he said.
