UGANDA: Train the People to Work Hard Instead of Attacking the Church
Peter Masereka
The Bishop of Kasese Catholic Diocese in Uganda, Rt. Rev Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has expressed dismay over some politicians in the country who pedal attacks on the Church and demonize it for cheap politics.
The Bishop is also concerned that instead of politicians mobilizing the masses to hard working and ownership of church initiated social projects, they are investing in promoting sectarian behaviors among the local community members.
In his homily while presiding over Holy Mass shortly after the commissioning and blessing of the new Centenary Bank Kasese branch multibillion complex function as from 28th Jan 2023, Bishop Kibira who said was ready to discuss and work with all leaders noted that he is disappointed with the manner under which some political leaders in Kasese are falsely misleading the community and feeding the people with false information about the development of the diocesan hall.
The Bishop asked all Christians to build their foundation on Jesus the Christ so as to remain successful in life and further urged every catholic institution and individuals in Kasese district to open accounts with the bank as the best way of utilizing the facility.
State Minister for National Guidance, Hon. Kabyanga Godfrey Kiime Baluku who commissioned the New Bank lashed at some people who surrounded themselves with spears demanding for Kilembe Mines Hospital as illiterate and uninformed leaders who are not exposed.
Hon. Kabyanga who sounded disappointed over politicians abusing Church leaders for selfish gains, saying time was now for politicians in country to tell the truth about issues of public interest than feeding the community on lies just to make them happy.
