UGANDA: Bishop of Kasese Condemns Leaders Who Approve Weekly Trans night Concerts with No Guidelines

The Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has expressed concern over the increased weekly trans night concerts in Kasese Municipality which according him, are affecting the moral behavior of the young generation.

In his homily while presiding over Holy Mass on 25th Sept 2022 at Our Lady of Assumption Kasese Cathedral church where 528 Christians received the Sacrament of Confirmation, Bishop Kibira said research had indicated increase in the number of HIV/AIDS clients of recent compared to the past years.

Bishop Kibira later asked the local leaders not only to focus on local revenue enhancement but also to save life by giving guidance to the most vulnerable – the youth.

The Bishop Diocese of Kasese Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale described marriage as a challenging institution but a pillar of the Church that requires faithfulness, commitment and patience to deliver, saying marriage is the foundation of the Church and the country that if handled wrongly, society would be ruined.

He asked Christians to instill their children with cultural and Church values if they were to grow into responsible, focused and exemplary citizens.

In his speech, Bishop Kibira announced that the Kasese Cathedral construction would be resumed next year, calling for double efforts in resource mobilization.
