ZAMBIA: Girls who accept the call of God bring blessings to their parents in heaven, Bishop Lungu.

By Christopher Banda.

Chipata Diocese Bishop George Zumaile Lungu in Eastern Province of Zambia, said gold is found in useless soils and urges School girls who hear the vocation in their hearts not to be afraid but to open up and accept the call of God.

In his sermon during the Silver Jubilee cerebration Mass of Sr. Ruth Christine Nyalazi of Mary Immaculate Conception Sisters (M.I.C) at St. Gabriel Sub Parish on 13th August 2022, Bishop Lungu said school girls who accept the call of God brings blessings to their parents in heaven.

The Jews said gold is found in useless soil and that’s why you will never hear of gold found in Ndola but in Vubwi, Lundazi was regarded as useless soil but here is Sr. Ruth from Lundazi District is today cerebrating 25 years of  religious life, many more sisters are coming, Bishop Lungu said.

Do you remember the story of Nathaniel in the Bible? Can anything good come from Nazareth? That’s what was in his mind. Nazareth, that’s where Jesus the son of Mary and Joseph came from. The child you don’t regard, the orphan child, is the one to bring you blessings, that child is gold, Bishop Lungu said.

The Bishop of Chipata Diocese continued to say that, the family, the village you pay no attention to, that’s where God chooses His servants as our way of thinking is not the way God looks at things.

“Sr. Ruth has gone through in life… and life is the best teacher,” Bishop Lungu said. Sisters, couples, Priests and catechists, who are 25 years in there vocations, you have grown, you have stability now. Time is limited, Priests go and preach the Word of God, you have no time to waste.

Bishop Lungu expressed concern that young people are dying and marriages are breaking up because people at present are not afraid of calamities.

He called on Sr. Ruth to preach to people about Mary the Mother of God and commended her for accepting to serve God in the Church and for being dedicated in her calling.

Meanwhile in her vote of thanks Sr. Ruth Christine Nyalazi who was celebrating her silver jubilee said Mother Mary has been a pillar in her vocation.

Sr Ruth who has worked in Zambia, Malawi, Philippine and Canada, commended her family and fellow Sisters for helping her build her faith in God.
