VATICAN: Pope Francis is Concerned About Reconciliation and Peace in South Sudan, Says Cardinal Pietro”

The Secretary of State at Vatican in Rome Cardinal Pietro Parolin, at his arrival at Juba International Airport on Tuesday, said His Holiness Pope Francis is in communion and concerned for reconciliation and peace in South Sudan.

Speaking during his arrival at Juba International Airport Cardinal Parolin stated that it is a great joy for him to visit South Sudan and to celebrate with them together for the great development which is taking place in the country.

“It’s a great joy for me to be with you and to be able to stay two days, to celebrate, to pray to meet people on behalf of the Holy Father Pope Francis who could not come because of health condition, but he will come one day to South Sudan has he promise to do. The Holy Father is always concerned with reconciliation and peace of South Sudan,” he said.

Cardinal Parolin explained that the health condition which Pope Francis is going through and added that he still has hope that he will visit the Republic of South Sudan one day.

He further explained that Pope Francis is following the developments taking place in South Sudan and that he is always with the people South Sudan in prayers.

“He is following the good developments that are taking place and we assure you that the Church in South Sudan and all the authorities are in his prayer and his spiritually support.”

The Cardinal expressed his gratitude to the people of South Sudan for the warm welcoming he experienced in Juba.

Meanwhile, the senior presidential adviser Kuol Manyang Juuk who received Cardinal Parolin on behave of the President stated that South Sudan is blessed with the coming of the Cardinal.

Manyang explained to Cardinal how the government is trying it’s best to bring peace to South Sudan has it was agreed on.
