MALAWI: Catholic University Set for Nanjiri Campus Construction

The Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) has disclosed plans to start constructing a constituent college at Nanjiri in Malawi’s capital city Lilongwe with a groundbreaking ceremony expected to be on Monday 20th June 2022.
In circular with Reference VC/CU/Admin/2022/03 that has been signed by the Vice-Chancellor Rev.Fr. Dr. George Buleya, the new campus will help the University to expand its geographical presence and the range of academic programmes that are to be offered.
“The Catholic University of Malawi has for the past two years been advancing its plans to set up a constituent College at Nanjiri in Lilongwe” Reads part of the Circular.
“These plans are now coming to light as construction of Phase One of the campus has begun. Phase One of the project consists of the three-storey complex with eighteen lecture rooms and six offices” The circular further reads.
The circular further indicates that the groundbreaking marks the start of milestone growth of the university, in reaching out to more people in Malawi and beyond with quality holistic education.
The groundbreaking ceremony on Monday will witness the owners of the University, the Catholic Bishops under the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM), members of the University council, representatives of Catholic clergy and religious congregations, officials from the Ministry of Education and National Council of Higher Education, traditional leaders having a tour of the site project, a brief presentation of the project just to list some but a few.
Established in 2006 by ECM, the Catholic University of Malawi offers diplomas, degrees, and Masters’ Programmes in the country.
