MALAWI: Catholic University Grabs 2022 Service Excellence Award

The Chartered Institute of Customer Management (CICM) has on Friday last week awarded the Catholic University of Malawi as the best institution in the education sector in the country.
During the ceremony of the Malawi Service Excellence Awards that was held in Blantyre at Cross Roads Hotel, the institute recognized the Catholic University of Malawi for its holistic quality education offered in Malawi.
The organizers of the awards have since urged the University to continue making strides in improving education standards for citizens of the country.
Commenting after receiving the award, the Vice-Chancellor of the university Rev. Fr. Dr. George Buleya said the award will motivate the academic staff to take the extra mile in improving the standards of the education sector in Malawi.
The Vice-Chancellor added that the award will help the academic staff to take more serious areas of research, innovation, and publication as a way of maintaining the standards of education in the country.
Fr. Buleya added further that over the years, the University has strived to improve standards by introducing new programmes.
He then explained that the rigorous process that the University went through to have its Law Programme accredited by the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE), is a clear sign of seriousness has on educational matters in Malawi.
In partnership with a German leading organization on adult education, Deutscher Volkshochschul Verband International (DVVI), the Catholic University of Malawi officially introduced the first-ever diploma in Adult Education and Development in 2021.
In the same year, the University also received accreditation status for its Law Programme from NCHE making it the only private university in Malawi that offers an accredited Programme in the legal field in the country.
Established in 2006, the Catholic University of Malawi offers Diplomas, Degrees, and Masters’ Programmes that are accredited by the council of higher learning in the country.
