ZAMBIA: Nuncio, Bishops Join Pope in Consecration of Ukraine/Russia

The Apostolic Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi will on Friday, 25th March, 2022 join Archbishop Alick Banda and the lay faithful in Lusaka to pray for peace in Ukraine and Russia.
This is in response to Pope Francis’ request that Diocesan Bishops around the world join him on Friday, 22nd March 2022 in their own local Churches as he leads the consecration ceremony of Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Archbishop Dr. Banda has announced this in a memo he sent to the priests, Religious and the lay faithful in the Archdiocese.
Meanwhile Ndola Diocese will also celebrate the consecration ceremony of Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Catholic Diocese of Ndola local ordinary Rt. Rev. Dr. Benjamin Phiri has since guided on how to go about it.
In his latest communication, Bishop Phiri said the consecration of humanity and Russia and Ukraine must take place at a Mass to be celebrated at 18:00 Zambia time.
The Bishop said there can be other Masses on Friday for Feast of the Annunciation but the consecration of humanity, Russia and Ukraine must take place at a Mass to be celebrated at 18:00 hours.
“Every Parish must have this ceremony on the occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation on Friday. There can be other Masses for the Feast but the consecration of Humanity, Russia and Ukraine must take place at a Mass to be celebrated at 18:00 Zambia time,” Bishop Phiri stated.
Bishop Phiri will celebrate Mass in the Cathedral of Christ the King in Ndola at 18:00 hours in line with the consecration of Ukraine and Russia by Pope Francis.
And all other dioceses in Zambia are set to join the Holy Father in the consecration ceremony of Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
