The Bishop of Nebbi Catholic Diocese Rt. Rev. Raphael P,mony Wokorach has implored the law makers to discern Lenten period in a bid to transform their lives.

The Bishop made the remark while presiding over the Eucharistic celebration organized by the Catholic chaplaincy to mark the start of the Lenten season at Parliament of Uganda on 02 March 2022.

According to Bishop Wokorach, there is urgent need for Christian believers to follow the standards set by Jesus in the Bible in a move to obtain spiritual benefits especially during the Lenten season.

He cited three fundamental pillars which should be observed by the believers during the Lenten season, starting with alms giving while noting that it is a common human practice to be embraced to meet the demands of the poor.

Meanwhile the deputy speaker of the National Parliament of Uganda asked the Bishop to pray for the law makers as they carry on with the legislative work for the betterment of the country.

The law makers applauded the prelate for preparing them at parliament to observe their spiritual exercises during the Lenten period.
