About seven hundred (700) candidates were confirmed on Monday, October 4 by Bishop of Wau Catholic Diocese as he marked 18 years in priestly service at St. Mary Parish.
Rt. Rev. Bishop Matthew Remijo Adam stated that “the Sacrament of Confirmation is to renew our baptismal promises to the Lord in the Catholic Church.”
The Bishop shared his experience with Christians during his journey to priesthood, adding that it was not easy to reach where he is now.
“I had two thoughts when I was in the seminary: I had thought of going out from the seminary and my conscious used to tell me not to do so because I became Deacon during a difficult time and indeed it was not easy. I found it difficult to leave.”
Bishop Remijo revealed that “Jesus is calling everyone to Him despite the difficult situations that we encounter, but the Lord will still make those who believe him happy.”
He said, God called him to be his servant and indeed in all the challenges he faced he finally became priest.
“God really wanted me to become priest after all the difficulties I went through in different aspects and at the end God made it for me to become priest”
Fr. Andrea Narro appeals to semarians and aspirants in the Diocese not consider the difficulties they are going through. Adding that, he did not give up in serving the people of God despite some challenges he faces after his ordination.
He did not explain further on some of the challenges he faced after his ordination to Priesthood.
He appealed to the faithful Christians who witnessed the confirmation Celebration to always direct the candidate to do the right things.
Seven hundred and eighty-six (786) candidates received confirmation on 01 October 2021, during the feast of Saint Teresa of child Jesus and seven hundred on 03, October during the 18th years of Bishop’s celebration since he was ordained priest.
Bishop Remijo joined the Comboni missionaries in 1994 and in 2003 he was ordained into priesthood.
