Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) in the United States of America has tipped the membership of Association of Consecrated Women in Eastern and Central Africa (ACWECA) to embrace technology as they reflect on re-awakening the prophetic role.
Speaking during the second day of the 18th ACWECA Plenary Assembly, Executive Director of LCWR Sr. Carol Zinn urged Consecrated women in the eastern and central region of Africa to be better at technology in their works.
“We know that technology is one of the three big movements that will be with us for another hundred years. We need to consider how we can use technology in spreading the Gospel to the ends of the world,” said Sr. Zinn.
She commended the decision by ACWECA members to have their Assembly online due to Covid19 pandemic and not to insist on a physical gathering.
“I have to smile because here we are on a Zoom forum from various countries around the world,” added Sr. Zinn.
Sr. Zinn further advised the ACWECA to take note of the other two movements in the world that include globalization and climate crisis that are to be with humankind for the next hundred years.
The Executive Director of LCWR further urged ACWECA membership to become a global Sisterhood in collaboration with other Consecrated women around the world despite being thousands of miles apart.
The women Religious conference in the United States of America has since extended its hand of partnership with ACWECA on Laudo Si as the Catholic Church gears up in teaching humankind about care for the common home which is the earth.
The 18th ACWECA plenary assembly is being held under the theme “Re-Awaken the Prophetic Role: A Call for Re-formation Towards Holistic Transformation in ACWECA region today (Jn 17: 16-18)”
The Assembly has entered its second day with participants sharing more on a call for re-formation in ACWECA and holistic transformation, to list a few.
