The Catholic Diocese of Tombura –Yambio is in a deep sorrow for the death of Rev. Fr. Anida Frances John on 19 August 2021.

The bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio Rt. Rev. Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kusala offers his condolences and prayers for Fr. Anida and his family friends and the entire Diocese

According to the massage AMECEA correspondent received in Juba, Fr. Anida passed on at 12:30 midnight at the diocesan pastoral Resource Center Nzara (pastoral Affairs and Mission).

According to Bishop Hiiboro, the late Fr. Anida is known for strong faith in God and big heart to help all people in any given way. Fr. Has spent nearly ten (10) years in a wheelchair with so much pain but remained joyful and calm.

Fr. Anida was born in a place called Muzungu (Rii-Yubu) on May 22, 1958 and he was ordained into priesthood in January 14, 1990 in a place called Naandi and served in various ministries in South Sudan, Kenya, Central African Republic and Uganda

In 1990, he began his ministry in Nzara as curate and then took refuge to Central Africa with nearly 46,000 Sudanese Refugees; he served them as parish priest, spiritual director for St. Joseph Minor Seminary in the refugees Camp until 2001

He did his masters in social Anthropology at Catholic University of Eastern Africa in 2010 since then he was struck by stroke which paralysed him

Fr. Anida’s wake service and burial took in Nzara on August 20, 2021 at 9: 00am and a corresponding Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sts. Peter and Paul Naandi his home parish
