ZAMBIA: Father Seketa is the New ZCCB Secretary General as Fr Cleophas Lungu’s Tenure Comes to an End

The Catholic Bishops of Zambia have appointed Rev. Fr. Kennedy Seketa as the new Secretary General of Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB).

Fr. Seketa who is the current rector of St. Dominic’s Major Seminary replaces Fr Cleophas Lungu who is completing his term of contract at the end of June 2021.

Father Lungu has been ZCCB Secretary General since 2010.

This is according to a brief memorandum released to the Apostolic Nunciature, Secretaries of Local Ordinaries, ZCCB Staff and Institutions, Zambia Association of Sisterhoods   Association of Religious Men in Zambia, Association of Zambia Diocesan Catholic clergy and all the Catholic faithful.

The Catholic Bishops have also appointed Fr. Brian Chibuluma, the current Dean of Studies at St. Dominic’s as Acting Rector of the major Seminary with effect from 1st July 2021.

Other appointments are Rev. Dr. Victor Mwanamwamba, P. S. S. as Director of human formation at St. Dominic’s Major Seminary; Rev. Fr. Joseph Chamwaza, P.S.S. as formator and lecturer in Spirituality at Emmaus Spirituality Centre.

Rev. Sr. Kandy Manchilla, a Comboni Missionary becomes the National Catechetical Coordinator at the Catholic Secretariat while Rev. Dr. Gabriel Mapulanga goes to Caritas Zambia.

In the meantime, the ZCCB President, Most Rev. Ignatius Chama, has conveyed his hearty congratulations to all the newly appointed and wished them God’s continued blessings as well as every success in their new portfolios.
