SOUTH SUDAN: New Catholic Bishop of Wau Reviews Pastoral and Spiritual Challenges Facing His Priests

Catholic Bishop of Wau Matthew Remijo Adam Gbitiku in his first meeting with all priests of the diocese reviewed pastoral and spiritual challenges facing challenges priests.
Vicar General Fr. Santino Mourino Mokoromomo said the meeting covered numerous issues such as pastoral duties and responsibilities, Voice of Hope Radio reported.
Fr Mourino explained that lack of enough medication, balanced diet and transport to priests affect their activities, making it difficult for the faithful to get the word of God.
This is the first time for the new Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wau to meet with his diocesan priests since his episcopal ordination.
The meeting brought together all diocesan priests from Aweil, Kwajok, Raja, Dem Zubeir, Bussere, Kpaile, Mboro and all priests working within Wau town.
Pope Francis appointed Rt. Rev. Remijio Adam Gbitiku MCCJ as bishop of Wau on 18th November 2020. He was ordained bishop on 24th January 2021 by the Gabriel Cardinal Zubeir Wako at the grounds of the Cathedral of Wau Saint Mary Help of Christians.
