MALAWI: Catholics Advised to Hold Hands in Building Radio Maria Malawi Headquarters

Vicar general of Lilongwe Diocese, Monsignor Patrick Thawale has advised all Catholics to hold hands in building new Radio Maria Malawi house.
He made these remarks on Friday 10th December, 2020 during the laying of foundation stone for a new Radio Maria Malawi Headquarters building in Lilongwe.
“The Catholic Church is very rich in everything, we have more gifts that we can use where possible, we need to hold hands and do all things together as one family. Today marks the official start of construction on the new facility hence as one family we need to do this together.” He said.
In his remarks, the Director for radio Maria Malawi Fr. Joseph Kimu said it will be easy to operate the Radio once it moves to Lilongwe as it is the capital of the country.
“Radio Maria is a National Radio Station hence the need to move its headquarters from Mangochi to Lilongwe for easy operation. Since the Catholic Secretariat is located in Lilongwe it will be an advantage to build our headquarters here so that we can be closer to the Episcopal Conference of Malawi. I therefore appeal to all Christians and well-wishers to take part towards the construction,” said Fr Kimu.
The president of association of Radio Maria Malawi, Mr. Levi Pherani said that Radio Maria Malawi is helping a lot of Christians to turn to God hence he urged everyone to take part towards the development.
“Radio Maria Malawi is helping a lot of Malawians to live for God. I therefore urge all Catholic Christians to take part in the activities by helping both financially and in prayers so that we can continue receiving good news from the Radio,” said Mr. Pherani.
Meanwhile, Coordinator of World Family of Radio Maria Malawi, Mr. Paolo Taffuri has expresses his gratitude to all friends of Radio Maria for the support they offer towards the growth of radio Maria Malawi
“I have always I admired the love that Radio Maria Malawi receives from its listeners, it’s a touching experience to hear people sharing their love through radio and Radio Maria Malawi is an example of such radios. I thank all friends of Radio Maria for their support, I ask you all to increase your effort in assisting the construction of Radio Maria Malawi,” said Taffuri.
Minister of Gender, community development and social welfare, Hon Patricia Kaliati thanked the Catholic community for always being on the fore front in service delivery in various sectors in the country.
“Mother Mary is the source of inner peace and I would like to encourage everyone to always wear rosary which protect us from all kinds of harm. I also encourage anyone to give their offering with a good heart and mother Mary will reward you always,” she continued.
