ZAMBIA: Association of Religious Women in Zambia Elects New Leadership

The Zambia Association of sisterhoods (ZAS) has new office bearers ushered into office at the end of ZAS Annual General Assembly which took place on 13th November 2020 at City of Hope in Lusaka, Zambia.
Provincial Superior of the Little Servants of Mary Immaculate (LSMI) Sr Sylvia Kagulura has been re-elected to lead the association for second term of office and she will be deputized by the Regional Superior of the Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood, Sr. Elvin Msimuko
The following were elected executive members: Sr Mary Kioko of the Daughters of St Paul; Sr Margaret Mweshi the Provincial Superior for the Franciscan Missionary sisters of Assis; Sr Rosaria Sakayombo the Superior General for the Religious Sisters of the Holy Spirit; and Sr Carmen Rosa Taira Oshiro, Provincial Superior for the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus.
In her acceptance speech after the installation ceremony, Sr Kagulura, thanked the outgoing team for its contribution to the association. She asked the outing going team to provide guidance to the new leadership where necessary and welcomed the new members to the team.
“May God continue to bless us with the union of our minds and our decision-making so that together we may take ZAS to greater heights,” she said.
She then thanked all participants and facilitators for gracing the occasion and urged them to foster unity in the association.
Sr Kagulura’s first term run from 2018 to 2020; now she begins a second term until 2022.
