Peace journalism training on conflict sensitive reporting for Radio Easter’s reporters in South Sudan’s Yei Diocese has concluded.
Speaking during the closure, Program Manager Ms Esther Tabu Natalino said she believes that the training is a refresher for the reporters to continue following ethical guidelines.
She has urged donors to continue funding such workshops in order to improve the skills of journalists working at State level.
Meanwhile the Communication Coordinator for the Diocese, Fr. Emmanuel Lodongo Sebit, advised the journalist to do their work professionally especially in the current situation characterised by several crises.
The Catholic Radio Network’s (CRN) Editor-in-Chief Mr Alfred Soka who facilitated the training has appreciated the journalists for their active participation and encourages them to put the skills gained during the training into practice.
On her part, the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) representative Joyce Maker appreciated the journalists for their tireless effort in serving the country.
She said her expectation is that the reporters will continue to do their job with the spirit of service and use the knowledge gained effectively.
The two days training which aimed at building the capacity of journalists was funded by the NPA.
