The archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Mombasa, Most Rev. Martin Kivuva Musonde, on Saturday urged congregants to stand firm and fight the novel Coronavirus that has put so many lives at stake.
Archbishop Martin Kivuva Musonde said this as he led Silver Jubilee celebrations at All Saints Church, Mrughua, in Taita Taveta County.
He reminded the church that Covid-19 was real and that it called for the courage of the people of God to overcome it.
“We have seen the number of infections rise. Covid-19 is real. I know of some who say it is not,” cautioned the Archbishop.
In his sermon, His Grace also appealed to the congregants not to give up but instead remain steadfast in prayer and worship. He lauded those that have led the way in the fight against the pandemic and reminded Christians that the Lord is with them even when things are hard.
“I know of some doctors, priests, leaders and so on who have been positive, let us encourage each other and follow Covid-19 guidelines.”
During the celebrations, 64 children were confirmed.
