SOUTH SUDAN: AMALNA Trains Journalists on Coronavirus Sensitive Reporting in Juba

AMALNA South Sudan trained ten journalists drawn from different states of South Sudan on Covid-19 and conflict sensitive reporting over the weekend in Juba.

AMALNA South Sudan, a non-partisan non-governmental organization was founded in 2016 with the aim of giving people hope to the people by preaching peaceful coexistence, diversity, accountability and respect for human rights uses the radio, drama and performance to impart its messages in the community.

Radio Anisa quoted AMALNA director, Mr Luate Joseph, who has called on the participants to take the knowledge acquired to their respective States in order to address some of the myths about Coronavirus in the community.

Training facilitator, Chance Baniko, said the journalists have been trained on several aspects most especially on sensitive reporting about Covid-19 in the country.

On behalf of the participants, Santino Mabeng of Good News Radio in Rumbek expressed appreciation to AMALNA for organizing such a training for the journalists, assuring the organization that the journalists have indeed acquired new skills.

AMALNA, a national organization which is based in Juba, partners with the Catholic Radio Network (CRN) and other radio stations in South Sudan to promote use of edutainment, particularly drama, for promoting behaviour change.
