Five newly ordained priests in the Archdiocese of Kasama have hailed the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) for introducing an initiative of raising funds to go towards supporting training of future Priests for the local Church.

The priests were ordained by the local ordinary of the Archdiocese of Kasama Most Rev. Ignatius Chama at Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist on Saturday 29th August, 2020.

They expressed gratitude for the support rendered towards their journey to priesthood through contribution of money and prayers.

Speaking on behalf of the other newly ordained priests during the ordination Mass, Father Benny Bwalya further appealed to all Catholic women in the Archdiocese to get involved in the Seminarians’ Fund initiative.

According to a report aired by Kasama Archdiocesan radio station, Lutanda Radio, the 5 who were ordained to priesthood on this Saturday are the first fruits of the CWO’s Seminarians’ Fund initiative.

The newly ordained include Father Benny Bwalya, Father Francis Chocha, Father Stephen Simulinga, Father Daniel Damoya Nkandu and Father Angel Seketa.

Their priestly training has largely been supported by funds raised by the CWO through its Seminarians’ Fund initiative since they began their priestly training in 2012 when the initiative introduced.

The Seminarians’ Fund initiative raises funds towards the education of Seminarians pursuing studies as future Priests in the local Church.
