MALAWI: Apostolic Nuncio Donates Ventilator to Likuni Hospital

Pope Francis through the office of the Apostolic Nuncio to Malawi has donated ventilators to Likuni Mission Hospital which is under the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) in the Archdiocese of Lilongwe, in support to the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Presenting the donation, the Archbishop of Lilongwe Most Rev. Tarcisius Ziyaye who is also Bishop Chairman for the Catholic Secretariat of Malawi on behalf of the Apostolic Nuncio to Zambia and Malawi Archbishop Gianfranco Gallone said that the donation will really help our brothers and sisters who are sick.
“The Holy Father is indeed concerned about this deadly pandemic which has shaken the whole world. We thank the Holy Farther for this donation which has come from his office, the Papal Foundation. As a token of our gratitude to the holy Father let us continue to pray for him,” said the Archbishop Ziyaye.
Archbishop Ziyaye also asked the Church to pray for those who are still sick and those who have died because of this deadly pandemic.
And receiving the donation, the Likuni Mission Hospital administrator Sr. Agnes Lungu thanked the Holy Father for the donation. She said the ventilators have come at the right time and would be used for the benefit of critically ill patients who have difficulties in breathing.
“On behalf of the hospital we are very much grateful for the donation and that the Holy Father thinks of us and comes to our assistance in areas that we are lucking,” said Sr. Lungu.
