ZAMBIA: Bishops Launch Year Of The Word Of God
The Catholic Bishops of Zambia have urged all members of the Church to properly dispose themselves in order to allow God to speak to them, recognize His voice and listen to Him through prayer.
This is contained in a statement released recently announcing the dedication of the Year 2020 to reflecting on the Word of God.
The Lord Bishops said that they have chosen the “Word of God” as their pastoral theme with the aim to venerate, celebrate, study, disseminate and live the Word of God, so that it becomes the centre of all aspects of life.
“Let us remember that we listen to God when we read and study the Holy Scriptures as well as when we share the Word of God,” they said.
They said that this is in line with the Conference’s Strategic Plan whose vision is A unified and empowered Conference of Catholic Bishops in Zambia that is inspired by the Word of God.
“In this Year of the Word of God, the Word of God must imbue all aspects of life. It must be the centre of all Church activities; the ministries to the youth and young people, catechetical, liturgical, sacred music, the Social Teaching of the Church (CST), education, biblical and health, among others,” reads the pastoral statement.
This year of the Word of God will be officially closed at the national level on 14th November 2020.
The pastoral statement was issued at Kapingila ZCCB House in Lusaka Zambia on 2nd February 2020- Feast of the Presentation of the Lord.
