MALAWI: Archdiocese Applauds Religious Men And Women

The Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Blantyre has applauded people in Religious life saying they help in the evangelization of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Speaking after Eucharistic celebration commemorating the day of the Consecrated life last Saturday at Limbe Cathedral, Vicar General, Father Boniface Tamani said the Archdiocese of Blantyre enjoys great partnership with people in Religious life.

“The relationship is that of partnership, working together, serving the Church and we are happy that we are working together as one, serving Jesus Christ,” said Fr Tamani.

“This day is set aside to pray for them, knowing that they are humans, they need prayers to strengthen them as they serve the Church, and most importantly that they should not diverge from the core mission of the Congregations,” added Fr Tamani.

Fr Tamani then urged the Religious to continue providing social development to people in districts under the Archdiocese.

IMG_0759The Vicar for the Religious in the Archdiocese, Fr James Kasitomu then pledged support to the Archdiocese through taking part in all activities under the Archdiocese.

During Holy Mass on Saturday, Fr Tamani, blessed candles that symbolized people in Religious life as a light to the world.

The Archdiocese of Blantyre has sixteen Religious Congregations working in the seven districts namely Mwanza, Neno, Chiradzulu, Thyolo, Mulanje, Phalombe and Blantyre.

Among the Congregations, eight are for men Religious while eight for women Religious.
