ZAMBIA: ZCCB Appreciates The Daughter Of The Redeemer As They Celebrate Golden Jubilee Of Foundation
On the occasion to mark 50th anniversary of the Daughters Of The Redeemer, Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), has deeply appreciated the spirit of collaboration the local Congregation has put in the provision of health services, quality education and pastoral care for the people of God.
The ZCCB President Rt. Rev. George Lungu observed that since its foundation, the Congregation has managed to live its charism of being ‘mothers’ to the people through the various ministries they are doing.
“As a Conference we appreciate the various apostolates through which the Congregation has allowed the Lord’s goodness to permeate’ the Local Church. With exultant joy, we join you in celebrating the 50 years of your committed and valuable service in this part of the globe,” he said.
“We consider you to be, not only a unique but also, a precious gift from the Lord. You have truly been signs of God’s tender love towards the human race and a particular witness of the mystery of the Church, Virgin, Bride and Mother,” the ZCCB President added.
He further said that over the span of years of existence, the local Congregation has had its fair share of challenges. Nonetheless, the celebration of this Golden Jubilee is a clear testimony that the Lord has always been close to the institute.
“Indeed, he has been your faithful companion and a Redeemer as you walked through the valley of tears and climbed the highlands of exuberance. Rest assured that God will continue to walk with you until you reach the Promised Land,” he added.
And in congratulating the Sisters during the Eucharistic celebration on 30th November, Archbishop of Lusaka Most Rev. Dr. Alick Banda assured the Congregation of God’s faithfulness and protection. He urged them to continue being a medium of God’s blessing.
The Daughters Of The Redeemer is a local congregation of Religious women founded by then Archbishop of Lusaka now laicized Emmanuel Milingo.
