ETHIOPIA: Catholic Church Prays for Peace
The Ethiopian Catholic Church has held prayers for peace on November 7, 2019 which is the annual feast of the Holy Savior according to the Ethiopian Liturgical calendar and as per the instructions of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Ethiopia to pray for peace, the deceased, families, and for all affected in the conflicts that took place in Ethiopia.
His Eminence Cardinal Berhaneyesus, CM, Metropolitan Archbishop of Addis Ababa and President of CBCE, while con-celebrating the Holy Mass at Holy Savior Parish in Addis Ababa said that true peace comes from Christ. He stressed that the situation in Ethiopia needs to be accompanied by daily prayers and asked all the clergy, Religious men and women, the Catholic faithful and all people of Good Will to continue praying for peace and reconciliation.
The Bishops called upon all Catholics living in Ethiopia and those in diaspora, to pray for peace on this day in solidarity with all the victims of social unrest in the past few years.
