SOUTH SUDAN: Archdiocese of Juba Celebrates 100 Years Of Faith

Christians in Juba are today, Friday, 01 November 2019, celebrating a hundred years of faith at Rajaf Parish where the main celebrant, Cardinal Zubeir Wako, has reminded Christians that the centenary is worth celebrating with Joy especially in such difficult time that people are going through.

“It’s worth celebrating the 100 years with joy. It’s a way of telling ourselves that we are not going to allow ourselves to be defeated. Jesus has taken our weakness as a step to make us victorious with him. I’m calling upon all of you to take up this challenge,” he said, adding that the Church has not yet experienced persecution like in other countries.

“We are the children of God, there may not be the persecution that we have but there is a new way of persecution of ignoring the presence of Jesus in our lives. To ignore Jesus and is message is to ignore ourselves.”

Cardinal Zubeir has appealed to all Christians to lead a life which is pleasing to God.

“Let’s adopt the way of life which is befitting before God. Among the children of God there is no place for thieves, murderers, or adulterous. Among the children of God, people do things well and smile at one another.”
