Archbishop Thomas Luke Msusa of the Archdiocese of Blantyre has applauded Catholic Women Organisation (CWO) for empowering women under the Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocation Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) program.

Speaking at Mendulo Parish in Mulanje District during awarding ceremony of certificates to women who have completed their training on vocation skills, Archbishop Msusa said the training has ensured economic empowerment to the women.

Archbishop Msusa added that the training is to help in narrowing the economic gap between women who are in rural and urban areas of this country.

“First am happy that this training is in line with our strategic plan of the Archdiocese of Blantyre, which looks forward to uplifting people’s lives spiritually, at the same time their empowerment in other areas,” said Msusa.

The Archbishop added further that the Church will ensure that more women have been reached with vocation skills in all its eight deaneries.

“I was quite impressed with the women who have trained in various skills, many of them are a bitolder in age. That is the spirit that we looking forward to see in this country,” he added.

Most Rev. Msusa also commended the CWO for the love of the Catholic faith through prayers and unity among women.

He further reminded the CWO members that they are servants of God and that they must continue serving others.
