MALAWI: St. Pius Parish Dared On Proving ‘Model’ Brand
Parishioners of St. Pius in the Archdiocese of Blantyre have been challenged to prove their brand as model parish by doing more in evangelization during this extraordinary missionary month of October.
The Episcopal Conference of Malawi chose the parish to host the main Eucharistic service of World Mission Sunday on October 20, the climax for the Extraordinary Missionary month.
The Parish priest Fr. George Kaliati dared his parishioners during the opening mass for the Month of the Rosary where the main celebrant was National Director for Pontifical Mission Societies in Malawi Fr. Vincent Mwakhwawa, to engage an extra gear in their services.
“Live up to the brand as a model parish. The bishops have entrusted us to host the World Mission Sunday’s main service.,” said Fr. Kaliati.
The parish, among other activities, aims at doing more on charity works and visiting Catholics and none Catholics helping them strengthen their spiritual and family lives.
“Let us strengthen our spiritual and family lives by revering the Blessed Virgin Mary and prying through her intercession during this Extra-Ordinary Mission month of October. Let us live up to the brand name of a model parish by evangelizing in accordance with the objectives set by Pope Francis for this month,” said the parish priest.
