UGANDA: Kampala Archbishop Appeals to Seminarians to be Obedient

Most Rev. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, Archbishop of Kampala

The Archbishop of Kampala, Most Rev. Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga has appealed to seminarians of St Mary’s National Seminary, Ggaba, to be obedient to their superiors.

He made the appeal on the occasion of his visit to the seminary where he was received by the Rector Rev. Fr. Lazarus Luyinda, members of the teaching staff and students on Thursday 12th September 2019.

In his homily while presiding over the evening Eucharistic celebration, the Prelate has urged the seminarians to make obedience their virtue during their seminary formation in a bid to become fruitful as future ministers in the Church.

Beside obedience, the Archbishop stressed the need for seminarians to be given holistic training basing on the four pillars of formation – Spiritual, Intellectual, Pastoral and Human formation.

He said it is appropriate for Seminarians to protect their identity and strive to nurture a life of holiness while imitating the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He implored seminarians to be prudently and practice charity; to offer genuine pastoral care to the Christian communities in need of their services.

The Archbishop promised constant spiritual support to the staff, seminarians and formators.
