SUDAN: El Obeid Diocese Witnesses Growth In Priestly vocation, Confirms Bishop
The Catholic Bishop of El-Obeid Diocese in the Sudan says there is an increase on the number of young people joining priestly vocation to serve the local Church. Rt. Rev. Yunan Tombe Trille Kuku Andali, told CRN on Sunday in Khartoum that the administration of the minor seminary in Al Obeid has registered 52 seminarians this academic year.
The Catholic prelate has pointed out that the diocese is in dire need of more priests and Religious leaders to serve the people, adding that he wishes current political change in Sudan would also see some change in transformation of the faith of the local people.
He has urged political parties in the country to fully implement what has been signed and open more freedoms of religion in Sudan.
Bishop Tombe also notes that there is a high chance of more Sudanese natives accepting Christ and joining the Mother Church in the coming period.
He insists that the local church needs to encourage young people to become priests. Bishop Yunnan Tombe Trile was made Bishop of El-Obeid in early 2017, who took over Bishop Michael Didi who was appointed Archbishop of Khartoum.
