KENYA: Catholic Church Recognises And Embraces Catholic Young Adults, Says Archbishop Anyolo

Most Rev. Philip Anyolo, Archbishop of Kisumu

The Chairman of The Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) and Archbishop of Kisumu Most Rev. Philip Anyolo has granted official recognition to the Catholic Young Adults (CYA).

In his Homily during Mass at St. peter’s Yala on 13th, June, 2019, Archbishop Anyolo told the young people that they are at the centre of the Church, meaning that the Church embraces them wherever they are.

He encouraged the CYA to perfect their lives for the benefit of their families and the Church, asking them to imitate the life of St. Antony of Padua who made an inward journey to discover his life with Christ and later found God within himself.

Archbishop Anyolo also appealed to them to continue being with the Church, in the Church, for the Church so as to experience God’s unifying Spirit.

He also asked the young adults to be good role models to the youth and children by witnessing moral values and commitment to serving the Church.

“Support the young ones with good examples and focus your ideas and energy towards benefiting the Church,” He said

The Archbishop offered the young people whom in the past felt abandoned, to the patronage of St. Antony of Padua, one of the Catholic Church’s most popular saints who is also popularly known as patron saint of lost and stolen articles and was a powerful Franciscan preacher and teacher.
