MALAWI: Catholic Nun Dies at 101
The Late Sister Lucy Tebulo
A Catholic nun of the Congregation of Blessed Virgin Mary (SBVM) in the Archdiocese of Blantyre has died on Tuesday, February 19, at the age of 101. Sister Lucy Tebulo passed on at Maryview Nursing Home, which is at the Generalate of the Congregation in Nguludi Parish, in the Archdiocese of Blantyre.
The body of late Sr Tebulo was laid to rest on Friday, February 22, 2019 at Maryview. Born on 6th July, 1918, the late Sister Tebulo hailed from Chingwalu village, in Mulanje district. She had her first vows as a nun on 25th March 1941 and her final vows on 25th March 1954.
She served the Church in the following parishes: Limbe, Nguludi, Namulenga, Muloza and Phalombe in the Archdiocese of Blantyre; Utale 1, Mpiri, Balaka and St. Paul the Apostle Minor Seminary in Mangochi diocese;
The late sister also rendered her service to Thondwe, Magomero and Nankhunda Seminary in Zomba Diocese; Nsipe Parish in Dedza diocese, Maryview Noviciate, and finally at Maryview Nursing Home
