ZAMBIA: Catholics Must Pray and Be Corrupt-Free: Bishop Mulenga, SDB

Rt. Rev. Clement Mulenga, SDB, Bishop Chairman of Pastoral Commission ZCCB

The Chairman of National Pastoral Commission for Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB), Rt. Rev. Clement Mulenga, SDB, has called upon Catholics in Zambia to be deeply anchored on the Word of God and to be morally upright.

“It’s not right to have Catholics who pray, recite Hail Mary but are involved in corruption and acts of injustice. Bishops want Catholics who care about the social environment with deep understanding of the social teaching of the Church,” he said.

Bishop Mulenga has further said that the Church in Zambia desires that the Word of God has an impact, resulting in deeper faith.

Bishop Mulenga said this through ZCCB Secretary General Fr. Cleophas Lungu when he opened a four-day workshop on the Promotion of Evangelization through Biblical, Pastoral Ministry and Popularization of the Catholic Social Teaching at Kapingila House in Lusaka on 30th October, 2018.

The workshop which is planned for the whole country is being organized in batches, the first participants being from Chipata, Lusaka and Kabwe Dioceses and includes the National Council of the Laity.

The Catholic Secretariat’s Biblical Desk and Caritas Zambia have organized these workshops.
