ZAMBIA: Radio Lutanda Gets Motor Vehicle donation from Missio Aachen and Church-In-Need
Radio Lutanda, a Kasama Archdiocesan Catholic radio station, has received a motor vehicle donation worth US 22,000 from two Catholic German donor agencies, Missio Aachen and the Aid to Church-In-Need (ACN).
Radio Lutanda Station Manager, Fr. Felix Chishimba has confirmed the development and also revealed that since its inception two years ago, the station has had challenges with transport so much that the radio station’s producers have not been able to reach out to remote areas for program recordings.
“Since 2016 when our radio station was opened, we have had challenges with transport. This prevented our producers from going into remote areas and other communities to record programs. Therefore, with this generous gesture, we shall now be able to go to many places,” he said.
Fr Chishimba has since sent word of gratitude to Missio Aachen and Aid to Church-In-Need for the gesture and pledged that the vehicle will be put for the indented purpose.
He has appealed to other donors to help Radio Lutanda with solar power equipment, saying that running a radio station on a diesel propelled generator as an alternative when there is no electricity is proving to be too costly.
