TANZANIA: Same Catholic Diocese loses three Priests within three Days
The Catholic Diocese of Same has lost three Priests in in a span of three days. Among the departed is Rev. Fr. Ulbadus Kidavuri who worked as an Executive Secretary in the Department for Laity for the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC).
According to information from Same Diocese, the other two priests who both died on Tuesday April 11 but on separate incidents, included Rev. Fr. Michael Kiraghenja who passed on in Moshi where he was attending a retreat. The other one is Rev. Fr. Arbogast Mndeme who died at KCMC Hospital also in Moshi where he had been admitted for medical treatment.
As the Diocese was planning the funeral of the two Priests which were meant to take place on 17th, April, 2018, it received the sad news from TEC –Catholic secretariat announcing the passing on of Rev Fr Ulbadus Kidavuri who died on the night of 13th, April, 2018 at TEC Secretariat, Dar es Salaam.
According to Very Rev. Fr. Raymond Saba, the Secretary General of TEC, the requiem Mass for Fr. Kidavuri will be held at the Catholic Secretariat on Monday 16th, April, 2018 before being taken to his diocese Same for funeral.
Fr. Kidavuri first worked at the Catholic Secretariat between the year 2002 and 2005 as Chief editor of Kiongozi Newspaper (a weekly Catholic Newspaper of TEC) and then from 2012 to date as Executive Secretary for Department for laity in the Pastoral Directorate.
