SOUTH SUDAN: Religious leader urge Christians to take care of their faith

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Yei Rt. Rev. Erkolano Lodu Tombe says has urged South Sudanese and Africans at large to take care of their faith according to the words of St. Daniel Comboni “Save Africa with Africa” adding that, without the Christians the work of the clergy will be useless

According to East Radio report, speaking at St. Daniel Comboni Catholic Chapel in Yei, Bishop Lodu said that, St Comboni worked hard to save Africans in faith and he is happy in heaven seeing his work prospering.

He revealed that, the Church continues to grow even after the foreign missionaries left Sudan in 1964 insisting that, the message of St Comboni to all the Christians is that they should take care of themselves as the people of God.

Meanwhile, Bishop Emeritus of the Catholic Diocese of Torit Rt. Rev. Paride Taban, called for creation of new parishes and chapels in the diocese to strengthen the Christians faith.

Addressing the Faithful on 8th, October, 2017, Bishop Emeritus Taban admited that the spiritual life of Christians is depressing hence need prayers, pointing out the need to take the gospel and the Church to the grassroots to improve the faith of the people in the community.

Bishop Taban urged the Diocese to bring Catholic Missionaries from Across the World to proclaim the word of the God to South Sudanese. He directed government and Non-governmental institutions to make use of Kuron Peace Village for dialogue.

Taban believes that it is only dialogue; peace and development that can be achieved in the Country revealing that the European Union is working hard to develop Kuron Peace Village as peace Centre.
