KENYA: Gaba Publication to hold 7th International Writers Conference
The Gaba Publications-CUEA Press of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa – Gaba Campus is scheduled to hold its annual International Writers’ Conference from 19th-21st September under the theme: “Christian Wealth Stewardship for Sustainable Development in Africa.”
According to the Coordinator of Gaba Publications Rev. Fr. Jordan Nyenyembe, AMECEA Secretary General Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Lugonzo will give the Keynote Address for this year’s 7th International Conference.
Fr. Jordan explained told AMECEA Online News that this year’s conference has attracted about 40 presenters who will have the opportunity to present in three days.
“Each presentation will be punctuated by questions and contributions from the audience, which ultimately help the presenters to strengthen their views and make their articles better,” Fr. Jordan explained.
At the end of the conference, presenters with well-tailored articles will get the opportunity for publication of their work in the AMECEA Journal, African Ecclesiastical Review – AFER.
This according to Fr. Jordan is a great opportunity especially to Masters and PhD students in Kenya who according to the new academic regulations by the Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Education Dr. Fred Matiang’i have to publish articles in peer review journals before they can qualify for graduation.
“According to the Cabinet Secretary, a Master’s Degree student cannot graduate without having an article published in a peer reviewed Journal, while a Doctorate student cannot graduate without having two articles published in a peer reviewed Journal therefore, the AMECEA African Ecclesiastical review journal is a great opportunity for upcoming scholars,” Fr. Jordan said.
