TANZANIA: Government conducts training on Labor Law to TEC Staff

Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) has taken its staff through a special training on labor laws in order to increase efficiency in its operation as part of implementing the law, fulfilling obligations, and strengthening positive relationships in the workplace.
The one-day training was conducted at the Headquarters of the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC) Kurasini, Dar es Salaam and led by experts from the Ministry of Labor, Youth, Employment and Disability Temeke district.
The Secretary General of the Conference Rev. Father Raymond Saba explained that TEC decided to invite the experts so as to listen to them, understand employment laws in order to adhere to the requirements of the resolution of labor disputes, build positive relationships between employers and employees and get legal guidance on good relations at workplace and rates of work.
The staff were taken through issues of contract law, the non- discrimination laws, adherence to working hours and payment of overtime among other important issues that Tanzanian labor laws provide for
