ZAMBIA: Bishop of Mpika appointed

Fr. Justin Mulenga
His
Holiness, Pope Francis has on 23 December 2015 appointed, Rev. Fr. Justin
Mulenga, of Kasama Archdiocese as Bishop of Mpika Diocese.
Fr.
Mulenga was ordained priest for the Archdiocese of Kasama on 18th July 1993. He
holds a Diploma in Accountancy (Evelyn Hone College), studies in Philosophy and
Theology (Rome).
Fr.
Mulenga has served in many parishes as an Assistant Parish Priest (Lwena,
Kapatu) and as Parish Priest (Cathedral of St. John Kasama, Mbala). He has also
served as Episcopal Vicar for the Religious and Treasurer General of the
Archdiocese of Kasama.
Until
the time of the appointment the Bishop -elect was the Parish Priest in Lwena.
The
seat fell vacant following the appointment of Most Rev. Ignatius Chama as
Archbishop of Kasama on January 12, 2012. At the same time the Archbishop was
named as the Apostolic Administrator of Mpika.
