KENYA: Kenyans Bid Farewell to Pope Francis; Ugandans are waiting

Kenyans bid farewell to Pope Francis as he proceeds to another
AMECEA member country- Uganda; the second destination of his visit in Africa. Hundreds
of people lined along the roads leading to the airport to wave to the Holy
Father.

While at Jomo Kenyatta International airport (JKIA), he was
welcomed by traditional dancers, some in Maasai dresses, as well as children
waving the Vatican flag and choirs.
Pope Francis arrived at Airport at about 3.30pm and was received
by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta together with
other government officials.
He held brief talks with President Uhuru and as he proceeded to
the plane he had time shake hands with Bishops wishing safe trip to Uganda.
The plane carrying the Pope taxied away from JKIA at 4pm for
Entebbe International Airport in Uganda where he is expected to be received by
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
He will be in Uganda for 3 days where he is set to lead in the Eucharistic
Celebrations to mark the Golden Jubilee of the Canonization of the Uganda
Martyrs at Namugongo Shrines.
