KENYA: Pope Francis Remembers the Kenyan Victims of Terrorist Attacks

Pope
Francis has remembered the Kenyan Victims of Terrorists attack calling
religious leaders to be prophets of peace, peacemakers who invite others to
live in peace, harmony and mutual respect.
Pope
Francis was speaking on Thursday morning during his meeting with the religious
leaders, where he advocated for peaceful co-existence among Kenyans and good
governance to reduce radicalization among the youth.
“I
know that the barbarous attacks on Westgate Mall, Garissa University College
and Mandera are fresh in your minds.  All too often, young people are
being radicalized in the name of religion to sow discord and fear, and to tear
at the very fabric of our societies,” he said adding that “How important it is
that for us to be seen as prophets of peace, peacemakers who invite others to
live in peace, harmony and mutual respect!”
He
prayed that the Almighty God may touch the hearts of those who engage in this
violence, and grant his peace to all victims, their families and all the
communities.
