Speaking
to AMECEA Online News after their meeting, Mr. Zender said that the
purpose of their visit was to foster personal relationships between the two
organizations. “We’ve been collaborating with AMECEA for quite long and that
now we want to see how we can work together on pressing issues like
radicalization which is currently rampant in the East Africa region,” said

also said that one of the important missions of their visit was on family
projects by the Catholic Church in Kenya especially to enquire about the plan
to open the English Speaking Africa John Paul II Institute for Marriage and
Family Life. Since the Institute failed to be opened in Zambia, as was
initially planned, there is a process of consultation the Bishops of AMECEA to
help in identifying an alternative Conference or diocese in the Region.

Strategic Plan (2014-2024). Among the main areas of priority is the setting up
of the Office for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the AMECEA
Secretariat.
The
Communication Coordinator Rev Fr Chrisantus Ndaga shared with them that this
new initiative is aimed at promoting the presence of the message, teachings and
pastoral initiatives of the Bishops of AMECEA online.

During
the two weeks of the visit in Kenya, the two managed to visit a number of
Dioceses: that is, Mombasa, Malindi, Lodwar, Kitui, Isiolo, Kisumu and Homa
Bay. They also visited St Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary, and KCCB Secretariat.

to the CRTN Programs Director Mr. David Jones the visit helped them to capture
some images in the country which explain how the Church collaborate with stake
holders in the provision social as well as pastoral services.
