MALAWI: The Country’s delegation to the World Meeting of Family inspired by the Event

A delegation from Malawi to the World
Meeting of Family in Philadelphia, United States has described this year’s
gathering as a crucial event to the Catholic Church of Malawi and families
based on the theme of  “Love is our mission: the Family fully
alive.”

through Fr. Vincent Mwakhwawa, the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS) Director,
who accompanied the delegates together with and His Lordship Bishop Peter
Musikuwa of Chikwawa diocese and Bishop Chair for Pastoral Commission said that
the delegates were overwhelmed by the generosity of the people in Philadelphia
and that it was exciting to meet and interact with
many families, priests and bishops.
“We had good time in the company of Mexican families staying with
us in the same hotel…we were able to share good times together despite of the
language barriers of English and espanol,” read the report.
Fr. Mwakhwawa said
that the theme for this year’s meeting will help them to explore critical roles
the families must play in society and to give them an opportunity to talk about
challenges and blessings that families have.
Twelve ECM delegations, comprised
of five couples, one priest and a Bishop left Malawi for Philadelphia, US to
join the world in the meeting of Families scheduled from 26 to 27 September
2015.
The theme of the World
Meeting of Families – Philadelphia 2015 is “Love Is Our Mission: The Family
Fully Alive,” emphasizing the impact of the love and life of families on our
society.
