TANZANIA: Bishop Ngalalekumtwa Re-elected President of TEC

The
Catholic Bishops of Tanzania have re-elected Rt. Rev Tarcisio Ngalalekumtwa,
Bishop of Iringa diocese as the President of Tanzania Episcopal Conference
(TEC), a position he has been holding for the last three years.

 
According
to a statement released by the TEC Secretary General’s office, Archbishop of
Dodoma Most Rev. Beatus Kinyaiya Ofm.Cap was also elected as the Vice President
of the conference in the election conducted on Friday 4th September 215
at the Catholic secretariat in Dar-es-salaam.
 
Archbishop
Kinyaiya replaces Rt. Rev. Severin Niwemugizi, Bishop of Rulenge-Ngara who has
served the conference in that capacity for the last three years. 
 
The
Secretary General of the conference remains to be Very Rev Raymond Saba.
