ETHIOPIA: SECAM signs a Memorandum of Understanding with the African Union

The long
awaited memorandum of understanding between SECAM and African Union has been
signed by the President of SECAM H.G. Archbishop Gabriel Mbilingi and H.E. Dr.
Aisha L. Abdulahi, African Union Political Affairs Commission Commissioner.

According to
Mr. Berhanu Tamene, SECAM AU Liaison Officer, the MoU will allow the Catholic
Church in Africa to further widen her social activities in the continent. “The
Church in Africa is serving the people with various Pastoral and Social
services, this agreement will allow Bishop Conferences in Africa to further
work closely with governments in Africa in bridging gaps in terms of
participatory development and influencing national policies,” he said.

works through Justice and Peace Commissions and Parliamentary Liaison Offices

achievement of the 2063 African Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goal
through Africans for Africa.”
