Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) through its Commission for Social
Communications/Waumini Communications, plan to have twenty Radio stations
spread throughout the country by 2020 in order to evangelize widely to the 12
million faithful in the country.

This has
been envisaged in the just concluded strategic plan 2016-2020 dubbed
“WAUMINI.COM 2020” that has been founded on past gains, lessons from the
challenges of the present, and that seeks to create a sustainable, strategic
and innovative future for Waumini Communications.

Nakuru County on 30th August, 2015, Chairman for Commission for
social Communications and the Bishop of Kakamega Rt. Rev. Joseph Obanyi said
the document is a fruit of a wider consultation and participation and thought
of people with massive experiences.

remain a paper document, but will be implemented. He congratulated the team
that put the document together for the tremendous efforts made with a desire to
see a vibrant catholic community media.

transformation of the human person,” he said adding that he was confident that
the document will guide the Church for the next five years and beyond.

Since the
establishment of a full time office in 2012, Waumini Communications has become
a tool of evangelization and community mobilization. It has expanded its reach
to more than five million people in Kenya mainly through its seven active
community radios spread across Catholic Dioceses in the country.
