1.      DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS &
RESEARCH
2.      DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR – ADMINISTRATION, FINANCE AND
PLANNING
3.      CAMPUS DIRECTOR
The key job requirements and person’s
specifications are as follows:
 
 
1.      DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR – ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AND RESEARCH
Job
summary:           
·        
To
provide effective leadership in the academic and research division;
·        
To
ensure that academic standards and discipline are upheld;
·        
To
oversee the designing, reviewing and implementation of academic programmes;
·        
To
promote academic cooperation and solidarity with other universities and
institutions of higher learning;
·        
To
promote scientific research and give academic leadership that recognizes and encourages innovation to infuse academic
rigor and quality.
 
 
Reporting/Supervision:
The Deputy Vice Chancellor/Academic
shall report to the Vice Chancellor and shall supervise the Deans of Faculties,
Directors of Schools/Institutes/Research, the Registrar and University
Librarian.
 
 
Person’s specifications
The position
holder:
·        
Should
have a PhD or its equivalent and at least ten(10) years experience in senior
administrative and academic leadership position;
·        
Should be result-oriented with the
ability to actualize the corporate vision and mission;
·        
Demonstrate
excellent management skills including resource mobilization skills;
·        
Should be an outstanding scholar with
a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing university
education in Kenya;
·        
Should be a person of integrity and ability to
communicate effectively;
·        
Should
be customer oriented and with excellent team leadership;
·        
Should
have proficiency in MS office applications.
 
 
2.      DEPUTY VICE CHANCELLOR – ADMINISTRATION, FINANCE AND PLANNING
Job
summary:           
·        
Be
the acting the Vice Chancellor in the absence of the office holder;
·        
Responsible
for the formulation, implementation and review of the University’s strategic
plan in consultation with the Vice Chancellor;
·        
To
ensure proper management of the University funds.
·        
To
ensure efficient administration of the University and provide effective
leadership in the finance and administration division; 
Reporting/Supervision:
The Deputy Vice Chancellor – Finance and
Administration shall report to the Vice Chancellor and shall supervise, Chief Finance
Officer
 ,
the Senior Administration Officer, Legal Officer, Human Resources Manager, the
Dean of Students, ICT Manager, Corporate Communications Manager and Director of
the Press, Procurement Officer, and the Director for University Advancement.
 
 
Person’s specifications:
The position
holder:
·        
Should be result-oriented with the
ability to actualize the Corporate  Vision
and Mission;
·        
Should
demonstrate the ability to foster a corporate culture,  and have good change
management skills;
·        
Should
have the ability to oversee the development and implementation of staff
motivation and retention strategies;
·        
Should
demonstrate excellent management skills including resource mobilization,  financial management,  fund raising, networking and donor relations
skills;
·        
Should demonstrate competence in strategic
planning, financial management, investment ; Should possess demonstrable team development and
leadership skills;
·        
Should
have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and be customer
oriented.
·        
Should be a person of integrity with
high moral standards.
·        
Should
be proficient in MS office applications 
 
 
3.      CAMPUS DIRECTOR
Job
summary:           
·        
Manage
all academic, administrative and finance operations of the Campus.
·        
Promote
quality research, teaching and community service;
·        
Provide
effective leadership to the Campus staff;
·        
Formulate
and implement financial strategies (including resource mobilization strategies)
to ensure that the Campus has adequate resources;
Reporting/Supervision:
The job holder reports to the Vice Chancellor and supervises the Heads of Academic and the Head of
Administration sections at the Campus.
 
 
Person’s specifications:
The position
holder:-
·        
Should
have a PhD or its equivalent with at least ten (10) years experience in senior
administrative and leadership position;
·        
Should be result-oriented with the
ability to actualize the Corporate  Vision
and Mission;
·        
Should
demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills including networking, resource
mobilization, fund raising and financial management
skills;
·        
Should
be a person of integrity with excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural
skills;
·        
Should
demonstrate the ability to foster a corporate culture with good change management skills;
·        
Should
be proficient in MS office applications;
